Throughout the year, hotel guests can ask our staff for advice on how to organise their stay. Whether you’re interested in day trips, renting equipment or booking activities: feel free to ask us for help!

Explore the Lac de l’Abbaye

Owned by the Piot family for several generations, the Lac de l’Abbaye is the second largest lake in the Jura region. Formed from glaciers, this natural lake takes its name from the ancient abbey of Notre-Dame-de-Grandvaux which dates back to the 12th century. Today, only its church remains, although it has been rebuilt several times in Romanesque and Gothic styles.

The Lac de l’Abbaye is a heavenly sight at any time of day and can be admired from the restaurant or the hotel’s rooms.

But that’s not all! In spring and summer, guests can enjoy exclusive access to our lake for fishing, after asking our staff for permission. Guests can also go boating, take a paddleboard ride (12 €/hour rental) or enjoy the small sandy beach.

In winter, although the lake sometimes freezes over completely, there are still plenty of things to do. The hotel is very close to the start of cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails and you can buy ski passes and rent equipment for winter sports at reception.

Water and mountains, your playground

A certified instructor can provide sporting activities for groups or individuals to explore the Haut-Jura region, whether you’re in the mood for something sedate or more energetic, including Nordic walking, hiking, mountain biking and archery. You can also book a guide for skiing or snowshoeing, try dog sledding or enjoy a carriage ride in winter.
